So you know that little screed I posted about Michael Jordan and the need for the NBA to play by the same rules when it came to his contact with prospective Association players? The way that Danny Ainge and Don Nelson picked up fines for contact or conversation having to do with Kevin Durant and his mother, for example? Well, I should have done a little bit more homework. Jordan just picked up a $15,000 fine for discussing the talented Texas frosh during an interview with the Charlotte Observer last week. This cryptic comment was the money shot.
"The kid who may present that is the kid in Texas. (He) may have that because he has all the right signs."
It sounds like what the father of Frank Costanza's Korean war-era paramour had to say when Frank wouldn't remove his shoes upon entering the family homestead in Korea. "Ono, Enawa, Shuyu," which, of course, translates to "This guy...this is not my kind of guy." Except in this case, Jordan's saying that this is his kind of guy. Adam Morrison was also his kind of guy, although this year's rookie crop hasn't done all that much to make you think that there was a dead-on choice for Jordan to make with the third pick.
