Kansas City 19, Denver 10 - Herm Edwards ran Larry Johnson left, right and middle and Lawrence Tynes kicked four field goals to lead the Chiefs to a key AFC West victory in front of the 10 or 12 people outside of Arrowhead who could actually view the game. Johnson carried the ball 34 times for 157 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Among those who couldn't watch the game? Chiefs owner, AFL founder and longtime proponent of Thanksgiving football in the nation's heartland Lamar Hunt. Forced into the hospital with an illness, Hunt had to listen to the game on the phone while his daughter held it up to a TV that actually carried the NFL Network. Thanks for devoting your life to pro football Lamar now go fuck yourself, love Roger Goodell.
Dallas 38, Tampa 10 - Anyone and everyone could watch this mismatch, however, interesting only because of the continued ascension of Dallas's Lord and Savior Tony Romo. Jessica Simpson's squeeze was 22-of-29 for 306 yards and five touchdowns in the Cowboy rout that has them a half-game up on the Giants pending Sunday's result.
Miami 27, Detroit 10 - Joey Harrington played the first good game of his career in the state of Michigan, too late to satisfy Lion fans perhaps but at least they know what it might have looked like now. He threw three touchdowns in his fourth straight victory as Dolphin quarterback and Sammy Morris ran for 91 yards after Ronnie Brown left with an injured wrist. Matt Millen-era Lion record? 23-68. Thanks indeed.
