Back in March, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Eddie Griffin was involved in a car accident. He crashed his car into another, parked, one outside a store in Minneapolis and was driven home by two officers who appeared on scene and was ticketed for driving without a license and inattentive driving.
He was not, interestingly, given a test to see if he was drunk and that's caused a civil suit to be filed against the player and the city. Several witnesses allege that Griffin was drunk at the time of the accident, and one witness says that Griffin was also watching pornography on a dashboard-mounted DVD player when his Escalade went out of control. The brother of the man whose car was damaged also had this to add about a conversation with Griffin following the accident,
"That he was masturbating himself going down that street. That's how the accident happened because he was not paying attention. He's paying attention to that video and all of a sudden he's shoveled somebody's car on the top of the sidewalk."
And suddenly that inattentive driving rap makes all the sense in the world.
