True to form, many Philadelphia fans weren't crazy about the job the Sixers did during Thursday's draft. Some outside observers didn't think that much of the job Billy King did either. The reviews read like those you'd expect for a movie directed by Michael Bay. That's the Hollywood equivalent to a team run by King so it makes sense. Here's a sampling:
"They really didn’t do anything to put us in a position to win." - Dime Magazine
"Billy King is the new Billy Knight. Draft positions where we don’t need help!" - The Big Lead
"The Sixers picked up 4 players who could make the roster and provide upgrades this year. If it pans out like that, you have to consider this draft a success." - Depressed Fan
There were those that found King's work more enjoyable. Chad Ford gave them an A- and that quote from Depressed Fan was pulled from a review that was more optimistic than pessimistic overall. Just to be on the safe side their first pick, Thaddeus Young, is working to win some fans over to his side. He's holding a vote on the Sixers web site so that fans can pick his new number. He also threw out the first pitch before the lone Phillie win in their four-game set with the Mets this weekend, which is sure to help curry some favor among the notoriously difficult fanbase. The choices for Young's number are 5, 21, 30 and 31. 5 doesn't have much history with the Sixers. 21 was World B. Free's number so if the fans choose that one perhaps he'll change his name to Likes M. Young. 30 was the number for Free's teammate George McGinnis, a scorer Young would do well to emulate, but also by Alaa Abdelnaby who would be better off forgotten. 31 was worn by a player unknown to us in John Q. Trapp. It would be hard to touch World B. Free as a name but John Q. Trapp comes pretty damn close.

I feel like a fog, not that it matters. I've pretty much been doing nothing , but eh. Today was a loss. I haven't gotten much done for a while.

I've just been staying at home waiting for something to happen. I just don't have much to say right now, but so it goes. I've basically been doing nothing to speak of, but shrug. Today was a loss. I don't care. That's how it is.

Not much on my mind right now. I haven't been up to anything. Today was a complete loss. That's how it is. Not much exciting going on these days.
