Long Snapper Indeed

It's no secret that the life of a professional athlete comes with many of the fringe benefits normal men would give up their left kidney to obtain. Vast riches, easy access to the best bars, clubs and restaurants and, of course, attractive women falling all over themselves to be near them. (You'll notice I said pro athletes which explains why Brady Quinn was still with that beast on draft day.) Derek Jeter's cut a swath through the finest trim the apple has to offer, there's Tom Brady and Gisele and Tiger's blond nanny, tons of Euro soccer stars are with models and, hell, even Jeff Garcia is getting kissed good night by a Playboy playmate.

What I didn't realize is how far down the food chain the social benefits of athletics reach. Reporters caught up with Pamela Anderson in St. Petersburg, Russia recently and she was being squired about the former Leningrad by her latest squeeze. It won't shock you, based on what you've read, to learn that it's an athlete but which athlete is a bit of a surprise.

Pam Anderson and her San Diego Charger bf, David Binn, took in the cultural sights of St. Petersburg with visits to the Hermitage Museum and ballet at the Mariinsky Theatre.

"He's exactly how I wanted my man to be," Pam told OK!, which discreetly followed them to Russia with a reporter and photographer. "He's very strong and very calm. I am such a crazy person, and with Dave, I can relax."

More importantly, the mother of two adds, "David loves kids."

If Binn isn't a name that's immediately familiar to you then you aren't paying close enough attention when the Chargers are punting. He's the long-snapper for San Diego and while he's a good one, making the Pro Bowl last season, it's not quite as sexy a position as quarterback or shortstop.  Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports recently ran into the happy couple but sadly didn't get any tips about how Binn was able to get what's under the red swimsuit. That's a shame because there's likely a good lesson for all the fringe NFL prospects looking to distinguish themselves after being drafted late or not at all last weekend. Take up long snapping and you too can land yourself a Baywatch beauty/Playboy bunny/porn star with enormous breasts.
